I was hospitalized six weeks ago when my heart went into atrial fibrillation. If you’ve never experienced an irregular, fast heart beat for a sustained period of time it sort of feels like you are dying. When my heart was normalized and I was released I took the following steps to improve my life:
I’m happy to report that I’ve lost 33 pounds and I feel better than I’ve felt in a long time. I plan on adding yoga, hiking and massage into the mix in the coming weeks.
I had the honor of playing Just Dance 2 with Bella today. As I was moving and shaking to the mostly terrible pop songs it dawned on me that I have much weight to dance off. Some of the excess can be attributed to holiday consumption, most however can be blamed on a mix of overindulgence and lack of exercise. Rather than formulate an elaborate plan for losing weight I’m going to take a simpler approach in which I am present, mindful and moving.
