I was hospitalized six weeks ago when my heart went into atrial fibrillation. If you’ve never experienced an irregular, fast heart beat for a sustained period of time it sort of feels like you are dying. When my heart was normalized and I was released I took the following steps to improve my life:
I’m happy to report that I’ve lost 33 pounds and I feel better than I’ve felt in a long time. I plan on adding yoga, hiking and massage into the mix in the coming weeks.
Domenico and I had a chance to participate in the first ever TinyCon at the always awesome Round Hill Arts Center in Round Hill, Virginia. The appropriately named convention may have been small in size but was jam-packed with fun activities, panels, vendors and folks in cool costumes. We handed out goodies from Huzzah Hobbies in Ashburn, Virginia and taught folks how to play Magic: The Gathering.
A few of my illustrations will be on display at the Waterford Arts & Jazz Festival this Saturday (March 29th). For more information head over to https://www.facebook.com/waterfordartsandjazz/
Dinner Strikes Back (Fancy Art Show Edition)
I had the honor of playing Just Dance 2 with Bella today. As I was moving and shaking to the mostly terrible pop songs it dawned on me that I have much weight to dance off. Some of the excess can be attributed to holiday consumption, most however can be blamed on a mix of overindulgence and lack of exercise. Rather than formulate an elaborate plan for losing weight I’m going to take a simpler approach in which I am present, mindful and moving.
Feb 20 2014 Update: Added cover art to make this post even more embarrassing.
