Chris and I had the honor of shooting Axiom Resource Management‘s Holiday Party at the Ritz Carlton in Tyson’s Corner last Saturday. We offered both event coverage as well as on-site portraits. As you can see below, the folks at Axiom are a fun group. We look forward to working with them again in 2009!

Canon EF 50mm f1.4 USM

I’ve received a few emails from my fellow Canon shooters asking what lens I used to shoot the Georgia Peach photos. Behold the Canon EF 50mm f1.4 USM. This is a fast lens with a nice, wide aperture and crisp optics. It currently sells for $314.

If you don’t have $300+ to spend on a lens you may want to consider the Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 II. This lens is only $85, and although it’s not quite as fast and durable as the 50 f1/4, it still features a nice wide aperture and good optics.

Annie Leibovitz

Annie Leibovitz is arguably most famous living photographer, and one of my personal favorites. Her body of work is vast and interesting. One piece that always stood out to me is her infamous photograph of John Lennon and Yoko Ono. I recently paid homage to that very photo in a portrait session with Lindsey and Terry a few months ago.

Lindsey and Terry went to see her speak at the Corcoran Gallery of Art last night. She was promoting her new book “Annie Liebovitz At Work“.

This morning I receive the following email…

So…guess who gave you props on your work? Drumroll please…Annie Liebovitz. We showed her your photos of us last night after the lecture and she chuckled and said that they were great and to tell you that they’re great. No joke. Terry has documented proof. You’ve gotten an official shout out from a photography god.

About an hour later I receive an email from Terry with the following photo attached…
